Uncertainty. Indecisiveness. Anxiety. I'm going to take a lesson from Alice on this one.
Nobody can tell you that the path you are headed in is the “right” direction. Right and wrong is subjective. While there are certainly mentors or crazy white bunnies you chase, there are still going to be a number of factors and obstacles you stumble across in your lifetime that make your journey yours and yours only.
And while you may feel lost and confused (we all are), just remember that you only have the person you were yesterday to compare with. As long as you consciously choose the direction for yourself, you could pat yourself on the back and still say you're moving forward. Even if it's at a snail's pace, acknowledge and respect that pace and alter it when need be.
I've met many wandering youth on my travels. Many who've made decisions entirely based on the opportunities that were presented before them. One thing would lead to another. Perhaps it is pursuing a romantic relationship or a promising career move that would entice them to live in a different country for x period of time. Learning a different language and embracing a new culture and nourishing yourself. Knowing that this right now is exactly where I should be. Not exactly knowing where life could take them in 5-10 years but cherishing each moment all the same.
At this present time and at this moment, I feel deeply blessed at the chance of meeting these particular characters "wandering flow-goers" and how their views and perspectives have influenced the way I see and feel about this world and my place in it.
Like Cat says, don't give too much thought about which way you see yourself going...whether that's switching careers or getting out of a toxic relationship or moving to another country to figure out what your passions are in life, just go with the mindset that life is open to an infinite list of opportunities.
It's the mindset that counts and the values you bring to the table. The positive vibes you bring and the people you meet along the way will shape and influence where you're headed. Just trust in yourself and the universe will guide you in the right direction.
So with that said, explore your options and wander with the intention of getting lost. Be open to new possibilities and allow your curiosity fill you with intention to make the most out of your present situation. Life is too short to be too serious about the fear of “did I make the right decision?” Either way, you’re going to learn a thing or two. And it starts with you taking the plunge and getting outside of your comfort zone.
There will be a day in your life when you finally get out of that deep rabbit hole of uncertainty and self-doubt. You'll see the light of day and say "Shit, that was a crazy ride."
